Net Usage ISP definitions for Telkom Speedy

I just created a small firefox addon to add Telkom Speedy usage view capability into NetUsage. This could be an alternative for usage viewer software from Speedy.



This version was only tested with NetUsage 1.2.241

Steps to install this extension:

  1. Install NetUsage firefox addon. Click here to install.
  2. Install NetUsage ISP definitions for Indonesia. Click here to install.
  3. Restart Firefox.
  4. Configure
    See this instruction for details

    For Telkom Speedy:
    - Enter 12 digit speedy number
    - Enter speedy password (this is optional)
    - Enter Usage quota (Usually 3000 MB for Family and Load plan, or 50 (hours) for Chat plan )

Upgraded to use Django 1.0.2 (app-engine patch)

Previously this website used Django 0.96 with Google App Engine Helper for Django (http://code.google.com/p/google-app-engine-django). Upgrading to latest version was very painful so I tried another open source lib, app-engine patch version 1.0.2.1 (http://code.google.com/p/app-engine-patch/).

This patch is very easy to use. Installation is very simple. Since my app is pretty simple, only a few things were changed in migration process:

  • Changed model classes to extend db.Model instead of BaseModel
  • Added table name metadata to the models to reuse existing tables. App engine helper uses model class name as table name and django seems to use "package_model".
  • Changed app.yaml to point to the patch's main.py
  • Changed settings.py as needed
  • Replaced managed.py
